If there is one thing we have learned in Southern Colorado it's that everything is better with some green chile on it.
This Taste of Southern Colorado basket features three different takes on the local hero, the Pueblo Green Chile. A bread, a jam, a breakfast staple.
While we specialize in fruits we had to get in on the game years ago when we decided to add some roasted green chiles to our peach jam and discovered a lasting addiction to sweet mellow heat. During our time down here cooking in Boone and Pueblo we have met a few other producers that are doing some interesting combos themselves.
Seppy's Challah provides the Pueblo Chile Challah, probably your first ever challah bread with green chilies in it. Elishevah Supulveda has been making challah bread since 2003 and is a phoenix who is rising from the ashes as she is rebuilding her company from the ground up after a devastating set back some years back. I have a lot of admiration for her perseverance. The bread with a slather of our Pueblo Chile Peach deliciousness on it is otherworldly. You might actually see god. Makes a fine french toast too.
You may recognize the White Corn Chilé Grits from Pueblo Seed & Food Co. We partnered with them last year with their breakfast sets. Nanna and Dan are farmers and entrepreneurs, educators and food makers and have been long time suppliers of the organic Pueblo Chiles we use in our Deliciousness. While they used to be right down the road from us in Boone, we both had to move and they are now based down in Cortez, Colorado, a beautiful and sacred part of the state. Lastly, our Good Food Award Winning, sweet and mildly warm Pueblo Chile Peach Deliciousness. This flavor is made from our favorite peaches from Paonia, the chilies, and a combination of spices built to enhance the two lead characters. Good on everything.
