Our 10th Anniversary Edition.
Holy smokes. Can you believe it? For 10 years we have been stirring pots, capping caps, and slinging' jam. What started out as a little side project after we won the Blue Ribbon at the Denver County Fair turned into our whole deal. Gone are the slide totes, car upholstery laptop bags, sassy greeting cards, tongue in cheek camping journals, inspirational postcards and calendars and what remains is a giant pile of sticky Deliciousness with some candied cherries on top. What a road.
This very special one time only short run of The Scenic Route - Piñon Peach Deliciousness is filled with metaphors of our 10 year run of happy accidents, massive learning curves, joyful wins and tearful losses. I never imagined when I set out on this Deliocusness road what was ahead of me. The hundreds of hours standing in popup tents, millions of peaches blanched and pitted, Good Food Awards, collaborations with other makers, dozens of employees coming and going, hundreds of mistakes, some resulting in new flavors, some resulting in gallons down the drain, genuine relationships with good vendors and deceitful lying ones too.
We have several batches of this flavor and hell, they are all different because I just couldn't get the chile dialed right. So each one is different. Don't like the one you have, try another one!
-
White Peaches (organic) - because they are peaches...but not quite right. Just get a normal peach next time.
-
Peach Whiskey - "This is not Whiskey" made by Laws from imposter peaches
-
Piñon Nuts -wild picked organic - a nod to our all time favorite flavor we made in collaboration with a Oaxacan chef, the Piñon Cherry Deliciousness
-
Juniper berry & sage (both organic) - Hitting up on my desert living roots
-
Vanilla Bean - because there is nothing better than a great vanilla bean from a good company. One of our first ethical vendor switches
-
Pueblo Red Chili Powder (organic) - because somehow we ended up in an elementary school cafeteria kitchen in Pueblo Chile land 2 hours south of my home
-
Chiltepin Chile Powder (organic) - because there should always be a spark of new frontiers
-
Organic Cane Sugar & Lemon & pectin too because it ain't jam without those things
Size: Net Wt. 9 oz (255g)
Some Pairing Suggestions...
-
CHEESE PLATE: Open it up, accidentally tip it over and let it spill all over until the cheese is in a Deliciousness lake. Perfect. You meant to do that.
-
BREAKFAST: Put it on your eggs and realize that's horrible. Throw the eggs away and try toast instead.
-
APPETIZERS: Try to make something fancy but burn the living daylights out of it. Scrap the char off and see if the sweetness masks it. Discover a delightful new family classic.
-
ENTREES: You tell me. I'm tapped out. Maybe ask ChatGPT
-
DESSERTS: Make up a batch of homemade ice cream and pour it over it like it's a smothered green chile breakfast burrito from Breakfast King. (RIP King)
That's all I got. I hope you enjoy. It's been one hell of a ride.
