Aw…..
It took her awhile..but Iola finally did it..she found her forbidden fruit, all spiny and prickly, but looking as fresh as can be despite her sour attitude about it all. Lucky for her, and us, it’s never too late to find your own Forbidden Fruit. Our newest addition to our Birthday Cards, get it here… Etsy
It’s that time of year, the time when parades of cattle go tromping through downtown Denver streets headed to the National Western Complex for a 3 week long event of the highest magnitude of good ole American ranching. The National Western Stock show in the historic stockyards and Coliseum. It’s rodeo’ing, bargaining for heifer semen, weighing swine, swilling soda, auctioning steer, shaving cow legs, riding sheep and competing for walls of ribbons. We love it. We never want to miss the opportunity to get poop and straw on our shoes and corndogs in our bellies. We hope it never ends because truly it reminds us that there people out there still living life making a honest days work out of running cattle and raising goats. This year we brought back some photos. Hope you enjoy. Be sure you click to enlarge and view em the way you would out on the back of a horse..well..not exactly, but they are bigger….
This is Craig Miller Sr and his granddaughter Brook. Craig Miller Sr has been a part of RedCamper’s success from day one, 8 years ago when we set out on the path of tote making. He and his team at American National Manufacturing worked with RedCamper to create something that had never been done before, a purse made of 35mm slides. Not just slide sheets sewn together, but a custom made, radio frequency welded, durable, panel set made of two types of transparents created from custom tools and dies and an ingenious air pump system made to create cozy little air filled pockets to protect our precious cargo. It was a feat of engineering brilliance. Or maybe just plain awesome for us. Our totes have never been a big business for him, but he has always been nothing less than amazing to us. He and his son are at the center of keeping American manufacturing alive with pride, and we are so thankful there are still people like them in this world. Thank you, Craig Miller Sr., for all the years.
We’ve been slacking on the blog entries. The holidays got the best of us. But we got some r&r and we are getting ramped up for a super great year. Hold on. While you are waiting here is a kinda entertaining commercial for Delta baggage app. No we aren’t sponsored by Delta, but we love watching luggage get moved around. Enjoy, and Happy New Year!
