RedCamper roadtrips often happen right here in the heart of our beloved Denver. We are estate sale junkies. Simply, there is no better place to find true vintage souvenirs, and this one is a GEM. Honestly, I’ve been looking for a cactus lamp for YEARS and this one was forlornly still sitting on a mid century modern credenza on the last hour of the last day of the sale. Better yet..the actual owner, Chuck, was sitting RIGHT THERE ON THE COUCH to tell the story of buying that lamp on a family trip to Yellowstone in 1961. He followed this story with a story of getting his first camera on this trip, a little Brownie, and happily snapping photos of his adverntures. Unfortunately those adventures were left on the table in a restaurant somewhere along the way. Sigh…someone has those photos though, I guarantee it. We might actually..let me go look now….anyway, thank you Chuck for the newest addition to our studio.

It’s been awhile since we posted. We’ve been busy. Changing things up. Though rolling out of bed and padding down the hall to the back studio was pretty great for 5 years, quarters got a bit tight when the team got bigger. The squirrel (1st employee) and Mark didn’t love having to move things to make things or share 4 square feet of work space with 2 other humans and a dog. Simply, we outgrew our cozy home studio. So, we went big time. Sort of. More like 1/2 time. RedCamper headquarters moved in October to their very own 2nd floor hideout in the heart of the Rino district in Denver. It’s a little bit like Being John Malkovich’s 7 1/2 floor space. (Not Veljkovich, Malkovich) We have been slaving away tearing down walls, painting and putting up wood paneling (oh yes) but the place is finally starting to feel like home. So, obviously we have a soft spot for typewriters. You just can’t beat the sounds of old school keys. Yes, we know..we still haven’t posted any of our traveling correspondents musings from our big road trip to NYC like we promised, truth is, turns out he was writing some pretty seriously top secret information that probably shouldn’t be spilt.

So, we promised more on Yes Please More. Yes Please More is an incredible effort being under taken here in Denver by our dear friend Samuel Schimek and his cohort Brian Corrigan. These two chaps are taking Denver by storm and are dual handedly cultivating and supporting independent designers and artists in Colorado. They have 2 pop up stores, starter grants for struggling creative entrepreneurs, events, and if you wait another 5 minutes who knows what they will surprise us with. It’s pretty exciting to see the creative community blossoming here in Denver. It was pretty dry when we pulled up the truck 10 years ago. We’re excited to see what’s next.
