Hey everyone we just launched a new site, with a new blog..I mean roadlog. So this one is officially closed, not just for repairs, ala Walley World Griswald style, or for the season, ala North Rim Grand Canyon  style..but closed for good, ala Heritage USA style.

Guess what though, we have a new and improved roadlog..HERE  Go check it out and let us know what you think.

Roadlog has moved

Came across a lovely series of films about home. In this segment “home” is work. One gentleman in this short has worked at this burger joint for 59 years. Take a few minutes and watch this through. It’s nice. Here are some more: This Must Be the Place

Mark thinks Andrew B Myers puts off a RedCamper vibe. I think he’s kinda right.

So, how many times have you traveled somewhere and no matter how many Frommers or Lonely Planet guides you read you STILL feel weird and lost and wish you knew where to find the cool stuff? Well, maybe this is an answer. Nectar & Pulse customized insider tour guides. Your “travel soulmate” they say. Pick a location, and then pick a person that is sorta like you and see what kind of recommendations they have. We like the concept, a lot. Worth a try I guess. We might check out one of the NYC guides since we are headed there in May.

So, we haven’t ordered anything that would require the UPS man to come..so we haven’t had but a single vote come in on this new set of images for this weeks photo challenge. So..we wonder if you could help. Vote for your favorite image by replying in the comments. Please?

There are 3 of us at RedCamper. There were 4 last week, but our intern Tia has already decided she has had enough. Must have been the hours of research and database entry we had her do. So, there are 3 of us at RedCamper, and we all love to take photographs. So much we decided to start a weekly competition. Every week we designate a block or a few blocks of our neighborhood to photograph. Bring your best shot back, hang it on the wall, and hope like hell for votes. Votes are where it gets tricky around here though. We don’t have many visitors, so we’ve forced the UPS man to vote twice, Tabor Carlton our friend has voted twice, Dean & Hilary of Meme voted once in exchange for quiet time in the studio, and Lisa Kowalski our friend and building mate has voted once. It only takes one judge to pick a winner though.

The winners.

The losers.

And…this weeks entries. (Tia got an entry in before she fled town)

We’d love to have you compete with us if you are in the area. We are on block #6 above. Get your best shot in by noon on Tuesday, April 3rd. Send it to rolling@redcamper.com.

Maybe it doesn’t count if its family, but we got ourselves another intern. Hopefully she can handle the heat more than the squirrel could. We have her packing orders, running errands, doing research, going on cold calls and participating in our photo contest. Welcome aboard Tia Gramzinski, RedCamper is happy to have you!

We suckered another intern in!

You can take the girl out of Flagstaff, but you can’t take the Flagstaff out of the girl. I love Waffle House. Love it. Grits, check. Sausage, check. Pecan Waffle, check. Hashbrowns with everything you can imagine on top of them, check. Eggs, check. Raisin toast, check. Fantastically loud waitresses, check. Filthy dirty usually, check. Along side every* Interstate coast to coast just waiting for your road weary limbs, check.  Love it. Don’t judge. Just try it.

A hard days work at the waffle station.

*except the Interstates running through Flagstaff ironically.

We like this shot by Corey Arnold. More here.
